Achilles N. George, age 94, of Upland, IN, formerly of Fairmount, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at UniversityNursingCenter in Upland, IN. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church, Indianapolis where he was former President of the Aheppa. He was a gentleman and a great craftsman. He was one of seven men who invented the ejections seat for the military. He was an inventor and has several pattens. He enjoyed fishing, prospecting and mountian climbing.   He retired from the Marion General Motors Plant where he was a pattern maker.
 
He was born April 16, 1916 in Chicago to the late Nicholas and Pauline (Borykroniks) George.
 
He was a graduate of CastechHigh School, Chicago.
 
He married his wife of 60 years E Athena (Lavedis) June 29, 1947, she preceded in death January 16, 2007.
 
He is survived by one son, Byron (wife Jennifer) George, Fairmount, Granddaughter, Kristina (husband Scott) Gunter, Gas City, IN Grandson, Nick George, Faimrount.   Great Grandchildren, Alexander Byron Gunter, Eli Rochne Gunter, Callista Mercede George, Kylee Gunter, and Zach Gunter.
 
One Brother:
Leo (Wife Joanne) George, Palm Springs, CA
 
One sister, Jean Sakellar, San Diego, CA.
 
Services are private.   Arrangements are being handled by Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN  Interment will be at ParkCemetery, Fairmount, IN
