Our Grief Therapy Dogs

Judd

Judd is an American Kennel Club (AKC) registered English Cream Golden Retriever born in October 2014 at Backcreek Kennels in Jonesboro, Indiana. Judd is owned by Gayle and Becky Armes. 

Judd has been en employee of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home since he was a puppy. He completed obedience training, is certified with Canine Good Citizen, and is a registered grief therapy dog. 

Judd is a loving and compassionate extension of our funeral home family. He works at any of our three funeral home locations in Fairmount, Marion and Upland; greeting visitors, attending visitations/funerals or serving in our community. Judd regularly spreads cheer in nursing homes, local schools and college campuses, libraries, and with the public. 

Judd has been featured in many publications including: the Chronicle-Tribune, the New York Daily News through the Associated Press, an article in Animal Wellness magazine, the American Funeral Director magazine, and Today.com.

Judd has become a vital addition to our funeral home and has ministered to many people. Judd is available at all our visitations and funerals. He is available upon request at other funeral homes and church funeral services.

Zuko

Zuko is an American Canine Association (ACA) registered Golden Retriever born April 10, 2015 in Hagerstown, Indiana.  Zuko is owned by handler, Mackenzie Corbin.

 Zuko joined the Armes-Hunt Funeral Home staff in February 2020. He completed obedience training, is certified with Canine Good Citizen, and is a registered grief therapy dog.

Zuko is a loving and compassionate extension of our funeral home family.  He works at any of our three funeral home locations in: Fairmount, Marion and Upland; greeting visitors, attending visitations/funerals or serving in our community. Zuko regularly spreads cheer in nursing homes, local schools and college campuses, libraries, and with the public.  

Zuko previously served as a therapy dog at the Wabash County Courthouse and jail. Zuko provided support to the probation department, both Superior and Circuit Courts, and the Wabash County Jail staff and inmates.

Zuko has become a wonderful addition to our funeral home and has ministered to many people.  Zuko is available at all our visitations and funerals. He is available upon request at other funeral homes and church funeral services.
