Arlie C. Cornwell, 84, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020, in Marion, Indiana. He was born in Means County, Kentucky, on January 27, 1935, to the late Chester and Ruth (Cobb) Cornwell. Arlie married the love of his life, Juanita (Tackett) Cornwell, on February 4, 1953, in Kentucky. They were married for 66 years, together they built a great and loving life. He worked in the salvage repair department at General Motors for 38 years before retiring. Arlie was a member of Calvary Social Brethren Church in Marion and the CPC Sympathy Club. He was a former member of the Moose in Marion. Arlie enjoyed reading, water skiing, motorcycle riding, and woodworking.
Arlile is survived by his wife, Juanita Cornwell, Fairmount; children, Christa (Tom) Bohlander, Fairmount; David (Barb) Cornwell, Van Buren; Kenneth (Jeannette) Cornwell, Denver, NC; and James (Cindy) Cornwell, Brandon, FL; sister, Anne Bolton, Kokomo; sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Michael Cornwell, Donna Chapel, Jean Simmins and sister Sue.
Arrangements for Arlie have been entrusted the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, Indiana 46928, where a visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M., the funeral beginning at 2:30 P.M. with Pastor Bruce Koontz officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Knox Chapel Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana.
