Connie Sue (Parks) Chaplin

February 4, 1951 ~ October 3, 2018 (age 67)

Connie Sue (Parks) Chaplin, 67, of Marion, Indiana, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Marion General Hospital.

Connie was born on February 4, 1951, daughter of the late Louis F. and Eunice C. (Barnes) Parks.  She graduated from Fairmount High School in 1969 and received an Associates Degree from Indiana Business College.  She married John E. Chaplin, Jr. on September 9, 1972, at Sweetser Wesleyan Church.  Connie was an office manager at Crawford Insurance Company for 20 years and retired from the Grant County Extension Office after 18 years, where she was also an office manager.  She loved being a grandma, reading, doing puzzles, watching Days of Our Lives, and she was a Master Gardener.   She and John enjoyed traveling and took more than 20 bus tours throughout the U.S.

Connie is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Shannon Reed, Marion; son, Todd (Samantha) Chaplin, White, GA; grandchildren, Kennedy Reed, Marion, Andrew Chaplin, White, GA, and Brentney (John) Perry, Gas City; great-grandchildren, Keaton Miller and Jase Perry; brothers, Jerry (Penny Oates) Parks, Cypress, FL, and James (Judy) Parks, Jonesboro; special friend, Neda JoAnn (Ned) Neubauer, Marion; and mother-in-law, Ruth Anna Chaplin, Marion; sister-in-law, Vera Ellen (Barry) Carstensen, Greentown; brother-in-law, Charlie Chaplin.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, John Chaplin, Sr.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana, where visitation will be on Sunday, October 7, 2018, from 2-6 PM.  Funeral services celebrating Connie's life will be on Monday, October 8, 2018, at 10 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Stewart officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Marion, IN.
