Doris M. (Coffel) Underwood

1938 ~ 2019 (age 80)

Doris Underwood 80, formerly of Fairmount, Indiana died Saturday May 4, 2019 at Community Hospital Anderson, Indiana

The daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Hamm) Coffel she was born December 12, 1938 in Marion, Indiana. On March 29, 1961 she married Benjamin G. Underwood he preceded her in death October 14, 2000.

Doris worked as a Nurses Aide and a QMA for many years, her interest included gardening, going to casino, traveling, bingo, fishing and camping, family vacations. She was a big Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers fan. Her number one interest was her grandchildren, attending their activities, games, and shows gave her the most joy. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 313 Fairmount.

She is survived by 3 daughters;Rhonda Underwood, Huntertown, IN Denise (Dan) Titus, Knightstown, IN Tina (Toby) Gilman, Summitville, IN and  7 grandchildren; Kyle (Brittany) Underwood, Knightstown, Danielle (Alan) Keough) Indianapolis, Cody Hike, Oxford, OH Travis (Emily) Titus, Carthage, IN Benjamin (Kale) Titus, Cambridge City, IN Wade (Lauren) Gilman, Spartanburg, SC Matthew (Kerri) Gilman, Alexandria, IN 7 great-grandchildren; Bridgett, Hadley, Ava, Colt, Layton, Cameron, and Callie. Brothers; Roger Coffel, Richmond, IN and Victor Coffel, Gas City, IN Sister; Deborah Ponder, Richmond, IN Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jerry and Gloria Underwood, Fairmount and sister-in-law Helen Faunce, Gas City, IN Several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister Phyllis.

The family will receive friends Tuesday May 7, 2019 5-7 PM at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN. Doris funeral service will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday after the visitation, with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating, cremation will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kure-4-Kam Fund for research for Acute Intermittent Porphyria in care of the funeral home.
