Kathy L (Robbins) Smith

August 3, 1950 ~ May 6, 2018 (age 67)

Kathy Lynn (Robbins) Smith, 67, of Gas City, Indiana, died Sunday, May 6, 2018, at St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Kathy was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky, on August 3, 1950, to the late and great Hagan Glen and Hallie Marie (Perry) Robbins. She was a graduate of Fairmount High School (Class of 1968), where she was a proud member of the National Honor Society and an active bowler. She is the wife of Ronald Lee Smith. They were married August 22, 1970. They celebrated 47 wonderful years together.

Kathy was a stay at home mom who was very involved with her children. She was a very loving and supporting mom. She was also a great Mamaw who spoiled her only granddaughter. She loved her Yankee Candles, although she never would burn them. She loved to collect “Beatles” memorabilia and lighthouses. She spent many hours reading and learning new things. She also frequently walked her miles at the Wellness Center in Marion, Indiana.

She is survived by her husband Ronald Smith, Gas City; two daughters, Heather (Jeremy) Morgan, Gas City, IN; and Jennifer Smith and her partner Heather Williams, Brownsburg, IN; her only grandchild, Tyme Herzog; two brothers, Stan (Cindy) Robbins, Fairmount, IN; and Rick (Carol) Robbins, Stillwater, MN; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kathy was a very kind and caring person. She never met a stranger. She talked to everyone and made everyone feel special. She was a comedian all on her own and cracked herself up a lot. She always knew the right thing to say and her hugs where like wings of an angel.

Local arrangements have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Ave, Marion, IN 46953, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, from 4-6 p.m.
