Brenda L. Hovermale

Brenda L. Hovermale, age 61, peacefully departed this life on September 14, 2026, at her home in Upland, Indiana. Born on November 19, 1964, in New Castle, Indiana, Brenda was a beloved daughter of Kenneth W. Fowler and Sarah L. Miller. Her life was marked by a profound faith and a commitment to family that will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.

Brenda's educational journey included earning a certificate in drug counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University, reflecting her desire to help others. She devoted her life to being a loving homemaker, creating a warm and inviting space for her family and friends. A long-time member of Upland Friends Church, she demonstrated unwavering faith and a deep love for the Lord.

Her spirit was as lively as her personality. Brenda embraced life with boundless enthusiasm and a wonderful sense of humor. She took great joy in the outdoors, often surrounded by the "critters" she adored. Her adventurous spirit and ability to connect with others left an indelible mark on her community and her friends.

Brenda is survived by her devoted siblings, Eleanor "Lori" Devers, Teresa (Gregg) Brewer, Robbie Miller, Mitch Miller, Jeff Miller, Buck Bushon, Tim Fowler, Kenna Kay Fowler, and Tammy Lainhart; step-sons, Zach Hovermale and Al Marin, Jr.; step-mother, Kathy Fowler; former husband and best friend, Al Marin; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved chihuahuas, Billy Jack and Bobby Joe. Her love for family and her vibrant presence will be greatly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Fowler; step-father, Elvin Miller; and brothers, David, Danny, Mike, and Mark Miller.

Arrangements for Brenda have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Visitation will be held at Upland Friends Church, 1111 South Main Street, Upland, Indiana 46989, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Curtis Blasiman officiating. A graveside service will be held at Brick Cemetery, North Brick Church Road, Hagerstown, Indiana, at 3:30 p.m., for anyone who can't make it to Upland for the funeral, but would still like to attend a service for Brenda.
