Carol James

Carol James, 79, of Fairmount, died Friday, August 21, 2026, at Twin City Health Care in Gas City.

Carol was born on May 14, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Peter and Eleanore Bagdon. She was the first graduating class from Harold L. Richards High School in 1966. After high school, she went on to earn her CNA and then her Phlebotomy certificate and worked for Ingalls in Harvey, Illinois, retiring when she was 55. In 1981, she married 21 year old Lloyd James, II, a 1966 U.S. Army veteran and steel worker at Commercial Forge Products. He died in 2005. Carol then married Wayne James, and he died in 2021. A strong-willed woman, Carol enjoyed sewing and embroidery.

Carol is survived by her children, Carolyn (Fidel) Moser, and Lloyd James, III; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Blake, Bridgette, Brandon, Nicole, and Eric; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Brittney, and Lilliana; sisters, Pat Crumrine and Barbara (James) Murphy; and brother, Peter (Buriet) Bagdon, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, and her parents, Peter and Eleanore.

Arrangements for Carol have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana 46928. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place and her ashes will be buried at Oxford West Cemetery.
