Catherine M. Nelson

Catherine M. Nelson, 81 passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, in her home. Catherine was born in Rothsay, Bute Scotland on January 8, 1943, to James and Ellen (Wallace) Harland. She met Waldo Nelson Jr. while he was stationed in Europe and they married on July 24, 1965.

Catherine was very proud of her Scottish-English heritage as a member of the Wallace Clan of Scotland. After retiring from Tulox Plastics she went on to work at Needham-Storey Wampner Funeral Service for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting blankets for her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her flower bed as well as spending time outside gardening or sitting by a campfire. She loved her family, Chanel Number 5, piping hot tea, and Angela Lansbury. She raised 4 children, wrangled 8 grandchildren, and snuggled 11 great-grandchildren. She was always there for her family.

Catherine is survived by her husband Waldo; children Tracey (Jim) Brooks, Darin (Susan) Nelson, Kimberly (Shane) Miller, and Donna (Tony) Clemons; grandchildren Joshua (Eshanne) Brooks, Catherine (Bo) Dietrick, Zachary (Brooke) McQueen, Trevor (Taylor) Nelson, Anna-Marie (Calvin) Parker, Jacob (Brook) Miller, Megan (Nick) Barnes, and Angela Fisher; siblings Robert (Crissy) Wallace, Patricia (George) Pett, James (Sandra) Harland, David Harland, and Andrew (Sharon) Harland. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Brenda Harland, and granddaughter Bonnie Ellen Miller.

Arrangements for Catherine have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Life Celebrations Funeral Home and Cremation Services College Park Chapel, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. A funeral service celebrating Catherine's life will follow at 12:00 with Pastor Andrew Winey officiating.
