Dan Glass

November 27, 1956 — May 21, 2023

Harry D. "Dan" Glass, 66, beat ALS on Sunday, May 21, 2023. He is now whole and singing in the heavenly choir.

Dan was born to Harry J. and Benita (Warren) Glass, on November 27, 1956, in Lafayette, Indiana.

He graduated from Eastbrook High School in 1975 and attended college at Ball State. Dan went on to become an EMT and worked a few years for the New Castle Police Emergency Unit. He drove a semi for over 30 years, the last position was driving for Wal-Mart distribution center in Gas City, Indiana, for 12 years.

On July 18, 1981, he married Cindy (Baker) Glass, and they celebrated almost 42 years together. Having become a Christian at a very young age, Dan was a true testament of what being a Christian means. He loved Jesus and did his best to live a life that reflected it. Dan and Cindy attended Westview Wesleyan Church in Jonesboro, Indiana, where Dan loved to share his love of music.

Dan was very involved in the Matthews Lions Club, having served as President various times over the years. He also was part of Gideons and helped distribute bibles. Being part of the Marion Easter Pageant for several years was something he enjoyed, as singing was an important part of his life.

A few years ago, he started working with his long time friend, Casey Winningham, restoring headstones in cemeteries all over the country. It was something that he thoroughly enjoyed and was very passionate about doing it correctly.

Dan is survived by his wife, Cindy; his son, Jeremy Glass; daughter, Bethany Glass Richards; grandkids, Jasmine Glass, Jaren Glass, Ezekiel Smith, Justin Glass, Coen Strader, Arianna Kendall, and Lachlan Richards; a great-grandson, Dawson Knobloch; another great-grandson due in November of 2023; sisters, Linda Morgan, Janice (Greg) Rittenhouse, and Jacque Sheets; brother-in-law, Dan (Penny) Masters; sisters-in-law, Elaine Masters; and Patty (Terry) Adams; uncle, LD Warren; aunt, Bonnie Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and brother-in-law, Keith Sheets.
