Darlene S. Dunahm, 85, of Jonesboro, joined Milton at their eternal home on Sunday April 19, 2026 at Colonial Oaks Health Care in Marion.

Darlene was born in Marion, Indiana on October 28, 1940 one of 10 children born to the late Denzil and Eva (Clark) Thompson. She graduated from Fairmount High School in 1958. Darlene loved being a homemaker, raising her children, decorating her home, gardening and flower arranging. She was actively involved at Main Street Wesleyan Church where she taught CYC. She put her homemaking skills to good use at the church, decorating. making flower arrangements and cleaning. She was a beautician for several years when her children were young and volunteered many hours running The Well food pantry. She loved bird watching and anything that bloomed. She married Milton L. Dunham Jr. on March 3, 1969. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2009.

Darlene is survived by her children, Dawn Collins, Todd (Char Suntken) Elkins, Trisha (Reece) Manning, Eric Elkins, April (Roger) Randolph, Karie (Joe) Merrill; grandchildren, Lindsay Elkins, Matt (Mitra) Elkins, Jerod (Cherish) Williams
Andrew Collins, Erika (Bret) Carpenter, Nathan Martin, Clay (Lucy) Elkins, Ryan (Brenna Miller) Randolph, Katie (Garrett Seals) Elkins, Taylor Elkins, Mason Elkins, Stephanie (Jason Vandemark) Howard, Grant (Lilli) Mitchener, Erin (Tim) Drew, Danielle Dunham, Colton Dunham, Caleb Dunham, Brianna Foltz, Nathan Foltz, Brad (Jamie) Manning, and Mark Manning; great grandchildren, Yogi, Aubrey, Kinley, Riot, Royal, Ridley, Romy, Piper, Lennon, Stella, Naomi, Braden, Ava, Mya and Zach; sister Marylou (Marc) Winslow, brother-in-law Tom Dunham, sister-in-law Diane Dunham, and numerous nieces and nephews


Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Denzil and Eva; husband, Milton; brothers, William K. (the late Norma) Wigner and Dan V. Thompson; sisters: Phyllis J. Haynes, Joyce A. (the late Forrest) Troyer, Barbara C. (the late Wilbur) Justus, Shirley L. (the late Gordon) Stace, Sharon K. Thompson, and Janie L. (the late Milo) Jefferies; son Cole Dunham and great-granddaughter, Kailyn Howard; mother and father-in-law, Milton Sr. and Hannazola Dunham; brothers-in-law, Dan Dunham and Harlan Dunham; sister-in-law, Dawnetta Dunham (Late George) Tomlin; nephews, Johnny and Andy Tomlin.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Services celebrating Darlene's life will be held at Westview Wesleyan Church, 1300 6th St, Jonesboro, IN 46938, on Friday, April 24, 2026. Visitation will be from 1-3 PM with the funeral service beginning at 3 PM with Pastor Ken Dykoff officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Fairmount.
