David Lee Adcock, 60, of Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Born on November 22, 1965, he was the beloved son of the late James and Dianna Gilbert. David graduated from Marion High School in 1984, where he forged friendships that would last a lifetime.
A gentle soul with a heart for service, David found joy in cooking for his parents and for veterans, sharing his culinary talents as a way to express his love and appreciation for others. His passion for food was rivaled only by his love for video games, music, and movies, often losing track of time as he immersed himself in these beloved pastimes. David cherished the simple pleasure of talking on the phone with family and friends, always ready with a kind word or a shared laugh.
David is survived by his daughter, Heather Adcock; siblings, Ronald (Tammy) Adcock, Marion, Tammie (Josh) Gilbert, Berrea, Kentucky, and John (Angie) Gilbert, Auburn; nieces and nephews, Alexis (Zay) Simmons, Madison (Marcus) Fields, Bryson Adcock, Lily Gilbert, Lexy (Brandon) Gemmill, and Rylee Sleeper; great-niece and nephew, Eliana Fields and Tatum Simmons; and a host of family and friends. David's warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dianna, and brother, Joseph Adcock.
Arrangements for David have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana 46928, where a visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tony Bye officiating.
