David W. DeRossett, 78, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at home. David was born on February 20, 1944, to the late Otis and Stella DeRossett. He worked for 42 years for Dana Corporation as a machinist. He enjoyed buying old cars, especially Model T's, and playing pool with his friends at the Plymouth Club and Bob's Bar. He also was a talented artist and drew and painted many pictures.
David is survived by his sons, David and Jason DeRossett; grandchildren, Resa and Josh DeRossett, MariAnna Otis, and Shayla, Talon, Phoenix, and Delilah DeRossett, and Sophie; great-grandchildren, Ethan Otis, and Alea and Connor DeRossett; sister, Barbara George; and nephews, Gary and Chris Jones, and Jeff Bartel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Stella; daughter, Leah DeRossett-McFarren; brothers, Darrell and Claude DeRossett; sisters, Ann DeRossett and Pam Brown; nephew, Glen Bartel; and his beloved dog, Shiloh, who went everywhere with him.
Arrangements for David have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana, where a visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place on Friday, December 2, at 1:00 p.m., at Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana, Kentucky.
