Donald Garrison

Donald E. Garrison, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on June 15, 2025, just shy of his 82nd birthday. Born on June 27, 1943, in Marion, Indiana, he was the beloved son of Ervin and Jeanette Garrison.

A proud graduate of LaFontaine High School's Class of 1961, Donald forged a path marked by service and dedication. He enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served from 1961 to 1964, embodying the spirit of commitment that characterized his life. After his military service, he worked as an electrician at Anaconda of Marion, General Tire in Wabash and Marion, and then at Chrysler in Kokomo for an impressive 23 years, from which he retired in 2006.

In January of 1985, Donald married the love of his life, Jean Muchmore, and together they shared a bond that became the foundation of a beautiful family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jean; two sons, Scott (Keri) and Jamy (Heather) Garrison; grandchildren, Trenton, Hannah, Lacey, and Austin; and his brother, James (Deb) Garrison. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Jeanette, and his son, Anthony Garrison.

A man of many passions, Donald was an avid golfer and cherished the warmth of Florida winters with Jean, creating memories that will be treasured forever. As a member of the Masonic Lodge 295 in LaFontaine for over 50 years, he contributed to the community and built lifelong friendships. He also served proudly as a Justice of the Peace in the 1970s, a testament to his commitment to serving others.

Arrangements for Donald have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services. In accordance with his wishes, Donald will be cremated. A life well-lived will be honored with a celebration of life on June 29, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the LaFontaine Community Building.
