Glenda Hartley

Glenda Rae Aldrich Hartley of Marion who was born in Indianapolis on May 20, 1939, to the late Bernice and Charles Aldrich passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025.

Glenda was a graduate of Howe High School, Class of 1957. She married the love of her life and they spent 42 years together.

She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Glenda spent her free time, playing the piano, dancing, singing and loved photography. She had a heart for the opera and reading. Glenda was blessed with a large family that she loved dearly, 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Glenda is survived by her husband William Hartley, children; Darren (Joyce) Christle, Dawn (Jeff) Barnett, Sandra Christle Merriman, and Karen Christle Porter; brothers,Bobby (Betty) Aldrich and James (Dana) Aldrich; sisters, Susie (Mitch) Steckler, Ginny Aldrich and Kimberly (Shawn) Holland.

Glenda was preceded in death by her daughter; Cindi (Mike) Yount; sister, Carole Wallace; brothers, John and Bill Wallace and Grandson Steven Earl Burns Jr.

Services for Glenda have been entrusted to Mississinewa Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 200 North 7th Street, Gas City, Indiana 46933, where on Sunday, June 1, 2025 the family will have visitation from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., with the funeral beginning at 4:00 P.M., with Pastor Fredrick Hearn officiating.

A Private Burial service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 435 W Troy Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46225.

She will be laid to rest next to her Grandson Steven.
