Hiram W. "Bill" Maggard, 71, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born on August 5, 1954, in Harlan, Kentucky, to the late Paul Sr. and Joyce (Cavins) Maggard. He attended Madison Grant High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. On June 10, 1972, he married the love of his life, Rhonda (Richcreek) Maggard, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and devotion.

A man of many passions, Bill had a deep love for classic cars, painting, and gardening. He especially enjoyed coaching his children in baseball and was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His generous spirit and kind heart left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Rhonda; sons, Thomas (Kim Altmeyer) Maggard and Gregory Maggard; brother, Timothy Maggard; sisters, Angela Hatton and Sabrina (Jack) Johnson; and his cherished grandchildren, Stacia Simpson, Analeigh Maggard, Callan Maggard, and Mikayla Altmeyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Paul Maggard Jr.; and his sister, Patricia Maggard.

Services to celebrate Bill's life have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Jeff Rybolt. Cremation will follow.
