James M. Hawkins, 63, who resided in Marion, IN, has left his earthly body behind and is now breathing easier in Heaven. He passed away unexpectedly at home on June 7th, 2021. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Hawkins, and father, John Hawkins. He is survived by his 3 sons, Abraham Hawkins (39-Indianapolis,) Wesley Hawkins (20) and Leland Hawkins (18-Union City, OH,) and 1 grandson, Nathanial Howell (19-Indianapolis.) He is survived by his sister, Barbara Duncan (FL,) half sister Lenida Vorwerk (CA,) 2 half brothers, Channing and Mariner Hawkins (HI,) 1 niece and nephew, and 1 great-niece (FL.) He also leaves behind his best friend and caregiver, Debbie Chick and her daughter, Shay Holmes. Jim was one of the good guys. He was smart, and had a great singing voice. He loved hot sauce (the hotter the better,) was an avid Ham and CB radio fan, and could be found over the airwaves at all crazy times of the night. He loved feeding and watching birds (except for the starlings.) He loved digging into genealogy and kept his family informed of the good, the bad, and the ugly. He loved Jesus and his family. A memorial service will be held in Middletown, IN in late July. Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services have been entrusted with arrangements.
