Jerry P. Cramer, 79, of Upland, Indiana, died at 7:39 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He entered this world on July 2, 1942 in Findlay, Ohio, born to Paul and Nina (Binger) Cramer. Jerry married Connie Wilson on June 16, 1963, she survives. He was a 1960 graduate of Liberty-Benton High School in Findlay, OH. After high school, Jerry received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Findlay in 1964, and his Master's degree from Indiana University in 1966. For 29 years, he worked as an accountant for Marathon Oil Company, before serving as a development officer and director of parent programs at Taylor University for 15 years. Jerry was a member of Upland Community Church, where he was an Elder of the church, sang in the choir, and served on the Board of the Lift Eastbrook Program. He was a board member for Youth for Christ in Findlay, OH, served on the Arlington local school board, and was a member of Gideons International. Most importantly, he was proud to be an Honorary Alumnus of Taylor University. In addition to his loving wife of 58 years, Jerry is survived by his three children, Shelly (Terrell) Gramling, and Jeff (Jane) Cramer, both of Upland, and Carrie Cramer of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Lane (Lauren) Gramling, Vanessa Gramling, Madeline Cramer, Olivia (Bryce) Peters, Ethan (Tiffany) Cramer, Eva Parsons, and Owyn Parsons; sister, Karen (Fred) Green of Findlay, OH; sisters-in-law, Karen Cramer of Findlay, OH, Vera (Wayne) Sheets of Arlington, OH, and brother and sister-in-law Mark and Pegi Crates of Aurora, CO. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Rex Cramer. A memorial service to honor Jerry's life will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 11, 2022, at Upland Community Church, 439 W. Berry Avenue, Upland, Indiana, with Pastor Mark Biehl officiating. A private burial will be held in Jefferson Cemetery, Upland. Arrangements are entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 N. Main Street, Upland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jerry and Connie Cramer Endowed Scholarship at Taylor University, the Lift Eastbrook Afterschool Program, or Upland Community Church, c/o Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
