Juanita Cornwell, 92, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, in Marion, IN, surrounded by love. Born on April 2, 1934, to Gladys (White) Tackett and Felix Tackett in Montgomery County, Kentucky, she lived a life marked by grace, kindness, and strength.

Juanita married the love of her life, Arlie Cornwell, on February 4, 1953, and together they built a marriage of 66 years until his passing on January 4, 2020. She devoted herself to raising their four children, creating a home filled with warmth, faith, and love.

A faithful member of the Fellowship of the Brethren, Juanita walked closely with God and lived out her beliefs through service and kindness. She found joy in her garden, at her sewing machine, and in her kitchen, where her renowned sweet potato casserole became a family favorite. Strong-willed and deeply dedicated to her family, she was also wise with her resources and a careful steward of all she was given.

Juanita is survived by daughter, Christa (Tom) Bohlander; sons, Kenneth (Jeanette) Cornwell and James (Cynthia) Cornwell; siblings, Trula Mills, Etta Mae Clemmens, Alta Lou Clemmens, Howard Tackett, Clara Faye George, Diane Boland, Brenda George, Deborah Ferguson, Earnest Ray Tackett, and Pamela Ballard; grandchildren, Erin, Eric, Elizabeth, Ellen, Evelyn, Cynthia, Stephanie, Michaela, Derek, Rebekah, Dominique, Jaden, Desiree, Clayton, Chloe and Emily; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gladys (White) Tackett and Felix Tackett; son, David Cornwell; siblings, Harlan Tackett, Arbit Tackett, Robert Tackett, Loraine Sparks, Elwood Tackett, Felix Jr. Tackett, Estelle Lee Tackett, and Bruce Tackett.

Services for Juanita have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Services will be on Monday, May 11, 2026. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will proceed at Knox Chapel Cemetery.
