Judith "Judy" A. Himelick, 88, of Upland, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Born on January 29, 1938, to the late Charles and Florence Clouse, Judy leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and resilience.
She was Momma Bear to five baby girl bears, each with a number. She loved each one dearly and equally, and made sure they understood it. Her husband, Jack, who she lovingly referred to as her Honey Bun, were married nearly 73 years. They played many games of Chinese Checkers over the years, and she won the last game!
She treated her grandchildren like they were her own kids. She loved her family above all. She enjoyed her church friends who always stayed in touch. She was a friend to all who knew her. She shared the love of Jesus daily.
A radio always played music in her home. She loved listening to Christian music. She could play hymns on the piano and continued playing at Colonial Oaks in the Great Room.
A special thank you to all of the staff and workers at Colonial Oaks Assisted Care who cared for her over the last few years. "I love you" were her famous words each day, countless times. They would echo it back to her always. She was a cheerful giver and was a famous thank you note writer.
After 88 years here on earth, her Lord and Savior called her home to the beautiful room that He made perfect for her in Heaven. She was so ready, and she let everyone know.
As she always said: "I love you and I'm praying for you, so do the same for me." Pass it on.
Judy is survived by her husband, Jack; daughters, Cheryl (Don) Allen, Kathryn (Brad) Spencer, Karen (Kenneth) Jones, Charlene (Dick) Justice, and Christine Crockett; 13 grandchildren, Bryan (Melissa) Schamber, Jon (Amber) Schamber, Julie Marchak, Justin Marchak, KC (Terra) Jones, Krysten (Kevin) Widener, Wesley (Chrissy) Martin, Karli (Cole) Chandler, Alayna Martin, McCabe Justice, Olivia (Andy Donaldson) Crockett, Abigail (David) Lucas, and Elise (Mason) Crockett; 23 great-grandchildren with another one on the way, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Florence, and her brother, Charles Clouse, Jr.
Arrangements for Judy have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 North Main Street, Upland, Indiana 46989, where a visitation will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Haley Asberry officiating.
