Kathleen S. "Kathy" Bertram, 69, of Matthews died Monday, October 18, 2021, at her residence. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 22, 1952, to the late Earl Charles Oehler, Sr. and Leta Fern (Martin) Oehler. Kathy was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed cooking, playing hymns on the piano, and most of all loved her children and grandchildren. She was a Cincinnati Reds fan and was described as a jokester, feisty, resilient, an encourager, and she put others before herself. Kathy had a contagious laugh and was tender-hearted. Concerned about others, she was always sending cards and letters of encouragement. As a teenager, she was a member of the Job's Daughters. She was also a member of FHA, GAA, and Campus Life. She was a member of the former Matthews Wesleyan Church where she served as Director of the CYC program due to her love for children. She attended Hillside Wesleyan Church, Marion. Kathy was a US Army veteran, graduated from Fairmount High School class of 1970, and attended Ball State University. She had worked as a Librarian for the school and retired as the secretary for Drs. B.D. and Kay Patel. Kathy is survived by her children, Leta (Ricky) Webb, Matthews, IN; Noah Roy, Matthews, IN; and David (fiance Kerrianne Posey) Roy, Mulberry, IN; siblings, Earl C. (Lois) Oehler Jr., Cincinnati, OH; Ruth (Brad) Hoggatt, Bloomington, IN; and Sherry (Allen) Atkinson, Marion, IN; grandchildren, Ainslee Davis-Beatty, Baylee (Tyler) Ensor, Kaylee (Brian) Kuenher, Emilee Morgan, Payton Lynn Roy, and Jesse Brown; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Melody, and Jaxson Ensor, Braylee and Rollin Kuenher; several nieces and nephews, including Micah Hoggatt, Andrea Kavanaugh, and Brent Atkinson. Kathy's son James Webb was killed at the age of 17 in a tragic car accident. It is comforting to know that they are together again. Also, preceding her in death were brothers, Donald Oehler, Richard Martin, Paul Oehler, William Oehler, Michael Oehler, Robert Oehler, and Joseph Oehler; and sisters, Peggy Rowlette, Mary JoAnn Cain, and Alice Hollenbach. Arrangements for Kathy have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 N.
