Kenneth "Kenny" H. Eccles, 87,of Marion and formerly of Jonesboro died Sunday, August 23, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family after a brief illness.

Kenny was born in Fairmount, Indiana, son of the late Ivan H. and Evelyn Marie (Shattuck) Eccles. He graduated from Fairmount High School in 1956. He married Suzanna M. "Susie" Eccles on January 9, 1961. She preceded him in death in 2011. After Susie's death he married Helen New Seaver on November 22, 2014. Kenny retired from Dana after 35 years of service as a machine operator and also did Plaster work with Gordon Hoheimer for many years. Kenny was a man of faith and loved his family. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Gas City. As a avid sports fan, he loved golf, his beloved Dodgers and enjoyed watching everything sports on TV. He played baseball for the Upland Merchants. He loved watching his grandkids play sports and went on 25 mile bike ride with his grandson.

Kenny will be missed my his wife Helen; daughters Traci (Mike) Overman, Lisa Bennett, and Melissa (Jeff) Hughes; grandchildren, Corey (Andrea) Wilson, Shane (Tracy) Kinner, Zachary (Stevi) Bennett, Jessica Bennett, Alison (Joe) Ellett and Abigail Avery; great-grandchildren, Conner (Gabi) Wilson and Avery Wilson, and Mazie Bennett; siblings, Emory Eccles, Jesse (Nancy) Eccles, Wendall Eccles, Wilbur Eccles, Brenda Julian, and Lesta Soultz. Extra family, Matt and Charity Reeves and their Children Peter, Hope, Andrew, Faith, Timmy, and Joy Helen, along with his feline companion Miss Puddles.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Suzanna "Susie" M. (Mitchell) Eccles, son-in-law, Tony Avery, sister Glendora Lewis.

Arrangements for Kenny will be at the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Services will be held at New Hope Baptist Church, 800 E. S. "C" Street, Gas City on Friday, August 28, 2026. Visitation will be from 11 AM-1 PM with the Funeral service beginning at 1 PM with Pastors Cory Wilson and Curtis Rhoadarmer officiating. Burial will be at Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church for Heart to Heart Hospice in care of the funeral home.
