Leslie Caldwell

Leslie R. "Ron" Caldwell Jr. 79 of Tampa, FL died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Northside Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL. Ron and Julie moved to Florida 40 plus years ago from Summitville, IN. where he was an an active community leader serving on the Van Buren Township and Summitville Fire Department, and was a member of the Summitville Lions Club. While living in Summitville, he and Julie attended the Summitville Christian Church.

After graduation Ron attended Barber College and went to work in Marion, Indiana at Ed Browns Barber Shop. He later owned his own his own barber shop in Summitville, Indiana, Caldwell's Barber Shop. After being in the Barber business for many years, he went to work at Guide Lamp. After moving to Florida, Ron went to work at Lowes, working in many departments. He retired from Lowes after 17 years of service. He loved woodworking and was very talented in may aspects of construction. Ron was also a life time train enthusiast.

Ron was born July 22, 1945 at Anderson, IN to the late Leslie R. Caldwell Sr. and Hazel Fern (Landers) Caldwell. He graduated from Summitville High School class of 1963, he married Julie K. Craw June 21, 1964.

Ron is survived by his wife of 60 years Julie, daughter; Angela K (Jerry) Binkley, Tracy R. (Janice) Caldwell, Grandchildren; Adrian (Richard) Brooks, Mark (Jessica) Brooks, Gabe (Gina) Caldwell, and Sienna Caldwell, 6 Great Grandchildren. Brother; Frank (Connie) Caldwell. Sister-in-laws; Beth and Frank Liestenfeltz, Marcie and Bob Kendall, Lee Anne Craw, brother-in-law; Tony (Linda) Craw. Several nieces and nephews.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Shari and Keith Anderson, sister-in-law; Diana Craw, brother-in-law; Robert "Bob" Craw and nephew; Eric Caldwell.
