Lois Colleen Cole departed this world to be reunited with her husband (Virgil) on March 19, just
20 days before her 100 th birthday. She was born in Marion April 8, 1924, to Leotha (Andrews)
and Lawson Cummings and was a lifelong resident of Grant County. She graduated from Marion
High School and was married August 30, 1944.
Lois was a lifelong homemaker and loved to cook. She was the best cook in the world. She was
also an avid reader of non-fiction books. Lois was a member of the Jalapa United Methodist
church for many years and then a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. Lois is
survived by her children Larry Cole (Paula) of Marion and Lee Cole (Pam) of Indianapolis;
grandchildren, Scott Cole (partner Kim Easton), Teresa Cass (Troy), Jennifer Taylor, Deanna
Cole, Matthew Cole (Anna) ; great grandchildren Ethan Cass, Hayden Cass and the newest
addition, 15-day old Adeline Cole. She is also survived by various nieces and nephews who had
a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, Lewis
(Bud) (Mary), Lemonte (Dee)(Lenora) and Danny (Jean) and her daughter-in-law Ellen Cole.
Visitation will be held Saturday March 23 at the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a memorial service led by Pastor Doug Jentes.
