Lois Jean King

Lois Jean Purvis, 62, of Marion, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on August 14, 2026.

Lois was born on January 4, 1964, to the late Floyd and Dorothy Irene (Ritchie) Purvis. She graduated from Marion High School with the Class of 1982. Later in life, Lois met the love of her life, Brent Trees, who survives. Together, they shared several wonderful years filled with love and cherished memories.

Lois worked at the Holiday Inn for several years and generously volunteered her time as a bell ringer for The Salvation Army.

Lois loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren. She loved anything tie-dyed and was known for her positive attitude, big heart, and beautiful smile. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted partner, Brent Trees; children, Heather Purvis, Shanna King, and Ozzie King; stepdaughter, Crystal King; sisters, Tonya (Chris) Baker, Joyce (Mark) McKee, Christine (Larry) Jenks, and Rosemary Biever; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and her beloved dogs, Rowdy and Willie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Dorothy Purvis; biological mother, Hattie Ritchie; and brothers, Robert Biever and Stanley Ritchie.

Arrangements for Lois have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Johnie Armes officiating.
