Lynn Carol Seward, 81, of Marion, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Lynn was born on July 6, 1943, in Marion, Indiana, to the late Lawson and Wilma (Storey) Rankin. On November 24, 1964, she married Robert Seward, her husband of 60 years, who survives.
Lynn was a graduate of Fairmount High School, Class of 1961, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Ball State University. She worked as a Society Editor for the Leader-Tribune before it became the Chronicle-Tribune, and was also employed at the former Davis Clinic in Marion.
A devoted antique collector, Lynn enjoyed working in her flower gardens, engaging in art projects, and attending plays. Her warmth and creativity touched many lives.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; her son, Robert E. (Kelly) Seward; grandchildren, Sophie (Tommy Rohr) Seward, Eli (Shia Ulman) Seward, Hannah (Jaylen Davidson) Seward, Zoe Seward, Abe Seward, Rowan Seward, and Raffi Seward; and her great-grandson, Jett Davidson. Also surviving is her sister, Greta (Barnnie Woody)Rutter.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Aarron Lake Seward; her sisters, Betty Hazelbaker and Rhonda Baker; and her brother, James Rankin.
Services for Lynn have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, with Pastor Dillon Ketchum officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Park Cemetery, Fairmount.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Fairmount Tree Replacement Program.
