Madge Marcelene (Hudnall) Harrell, 94, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.
Madge was born on October 25, 1931, in Glasgow, West Virginia. A proud Mountaineer at heart, she carried her love for her home state with her throughout her life. As a young woman, she left West Virginia with her best friend, Ruth, to attend Earlham College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in business with a pre-law focus. This accomplishment reflected her determination and intellect.
On May 13, 1960, Madge married the love of her life, Dedric Harrell. Together they made their home in Winchester, where they built a life grounded in faith, family, and community. They were blessed with one daughter, Betsy (Harrell) Draper.
Madge was a faithful and devoted member of Main Street Christian Church in Winchester. Her quiet strength, kindness, and steadfast faith were evident to all who knew her. She worked for many years at Overmeyer Mold in Winchester, where she was known for her strong work ethic and reliability.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dedric Harrell; her son-in-law, Dan Draper Jr.; and her two brothers, Gale and Lloyd Hudnall.
Madge is survived by her beloved daughter, Betsy (Kevin Small); her cherished grandchildren, Blakeleigh Draper, Blissfulle Draper, and Dan (Alexis) Draper III; and her treasured great-grandson, Rylan Draper. She is also survived by her sisters, Pon (Richard) Young and Carolyn (Steve) Stone, both of West Virginia, as well as several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank-you to the compassionate caregivers at University Nursing Center in Upland where she has lived the past four years and Heart-to-Heart Hospice. Their exceptional care ensured that Madge was treated with kindness, dignity, and love as she made her journey to heaven.
Madge did not want a funeral, she wanted a Celebration of Life. We will have the Celebration of Life on Saturday December 20th from 1pm - 3pm at her daughters home 653 South St., Upland.
In lieu of flowers, Madge wanted an account for Rylan Draper's education. Please send checks to Afena Federal Credit Union, ATTN: Steve Ybarra, 28 E. Berry Ave., Upland, IN 46989.
Madge's life was one of quiet grace, devotion to family, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
