Marcia Adkins

Marcia Adkins, age 87, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026, at Kokomo Healthcare in Kokomo, Indiana.

Marcia was born, to the late Luther and Madeline (Schieber) Hairrell. She attended Bennett High School and later married the love of her life, William Adkins.

Marcia worked as a teacher's aide at Oak Hill High School and later worked at Hills Department Store before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and AMVETS Auxiliary Post 5, where she served as a Past State Commander. She also lovingly served in the church nursery. She also lead a Bible study at Whites Institute for several years.

Marcia enjoyed painting, crafting, and crocheting. She was well loved by all who knew her, but her greatest joy was her family. She was a dedicated and loving mother who was always there to support her children. She never missed a sporting event and cherished every opportunity to cheer her family on.

Marcia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Adkins; her parents, Luther and Madeline (Schieber) Hairrell; brothers, Larry Hairrell and David Hairrell; Regina C. Auler, and Julia Jessmon.

She is survived by her children, Dan (Lisa) Adkins, Mike (Sissy) Adkins, and Patricia (Merrill) Speer; sister Rosemary Hairrell; sister-in-law, Judy Hairrell; grandchildren, Emma Adkins, Sarah Cox, and Crystal (Joseph) Adams; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kira, and Raelyn.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow at Gardens of Memory.
