Margaret Moore, 99, and formerly of Fairmount, died, Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Rolling Meadows Health Care in LaFontaine where she had been a resident since March.

Margaret was born the second of 12 children on December 11, 1925 in Gas City, Indiana to the late James W. and Mary (Jones) Gerstorff. Margaret graduated from Fairmount High School in 1944 . She married Arthur Moore on April 13, 1946. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1974. A 68 year employee of Citizens Exchange Bank,beginning her career there in 1944. She had attended Fairmount Baptist Church. Margaret was spunky with a spirit for adventure. She enjoyed parasailing while in Florida and did the zipline at the James Dean Festival several years ago. As a BINGO enthusiast, Margaret would play as often as she could and also enjoyed going to the Casino.

Margaret is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Chet) Vetor and Sandy Fox, both of Fairmount; grandchildren, Sherrie Stahl, Sweetser, Kara (Scott) McGraw, Swayzee, and Sheila (Bill) Shafer, Muncie great-grandchildren, Heather Diskey, Sweetser, Justin (Brittnea) Short,Sweetser, Kristi (Seth) Burns, Ft. Wayne, Sarah McGraw, Elwood; great- great-grandchildren, Addeson Short, Asher Brown, and Laeton Short; sisters, Judy Rhodes, Fairmount and Betty Merritt, Murrayville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and James, husband Arthur, Daughter Jayne, son-in-law Alan Fox, and siblings Estella, Ed, George, Bud, Marion, Wendall, Jim and Darlene, grandson-in-law, Ron Stahl.

Margret's wishes were that there be no services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana
