Maria Withrow

Maria Josephine Withrow, 72, of Marion, Indiana, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 5, 2025.

She was born on March 8, 1953, in Marion to the late William and Virginia (Ray) Zowd. Maria dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a Nurse's Aide for 53 years. She retired in 2018 after 16 years of devoted service at Colonial Oaks.

Maria had a deep love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar in her free time. She also enjoyed dancing. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Maria is survived by her children, Marilyn (James) Sutton of Marion, Catherine Marrs of Marion; grandchildren, Amber (Shane) Kierstead, Justina Meeks, Jennifer Meeks, Amanda Marrs, Jordan Marrs, Leah (Andy) Bilbee; great grandchildren, Hayden, Jayden, Carmon, Jae'shon, Makenzy, Cainen, Nevaeh, Chloey, Ariana, Caitlinn, Izayah, Aubree, and Addilynn; siblings, Tony (Elaine) Zowd, Tereasa (Dan) Tomlinson, Debra (Phil) O'Daire, Rosalia Shipbaugh; special friend Judy Voland.

She is preceded in her passing by her parents; siblings, Billy Zowd, Anna Turner, and Geno Miller.

Arrangments have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana. A visitation for Maria will be held at the College Park Chapel on Friday, June 13 , 2025 from 11:30 - 1:30pm. A service will follow with Pastor Mark Atkinson officiating. Immediatly following a burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park in Marion, Indiana.

Memorial contibutions in Maria's memory can be made out to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
