Marilyn J. Thatcher, a beloved soul who graced this world with her presence, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the age of 82, at Community Hospital in Anderson. Born on July 8, 1942, to the late Everett and Mary Horine, Marilyn's journey was one of love, kindness, and a passion for life's simplest joys.
Her culinary skills were unmatched, her kitchen the heart of her home where she lovingly prepared meals that were savored by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. Marilyn's compassionate spirit extended beyond people to include all creatures, as she cared for and nurtured countless neighborhood strays and her cherished canine companion, Abby. Her infectious laughter and warm smile were her trademark qualities, bringing joy to those around her.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Larry Wayne Thatcher, Fowlerton; daughter, Sue Ellen (Coy) Browning, Cicero; grandson, Austin Pope, Noblesville; sisters-in-law, Beverly Horine, Rigdon, and Glenda Horine, Upland; brother-in-law, Joe Seward, Fowlerton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Mary; sisters, Phyllis Seward and Jeanette Coffin; and brothers, Allen and John Horine.
Arrangements for Marilyn have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana 46928. A graveside service will take place at Knox Chapel Cemetery on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 3:30 p.m.
