Marjorie Anne van (Richards) Tuil born April 22,1944, in Marion Indiana, passed peacefully at home on December 3, 2025.She was the beloved daughter of the late Earl E Richards and Virginia M (Baker) Richards. Marjorie grew up on a farm in Fairmount, Indiana, surrounded by an abundance of love in a large close-knit family, She shared a deep bond with all her siblings throughout her life. Marjorie attended Fairmount High School graduating in 1962. During her School years she was actively involved in many clubs, including forensics, and proudly participated in 4-H. In 1961 she was awarded two Grand champion ribbons at the 4-H Fair for her cake and twice baked potatoes. Following High School, she attended Ball State University (Nursing) for one year. On June 27,1963 Marjorie enlisted in the Women's Army Corps. She was later transferred to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where she met and married the love of her life, Cornelis "Dutch" van Tuil on January 24,1964. Dutch preceded her in death in 2021.Marjorie was honorably discharged from the Army on July 30,1965.Marjorie reunited with Dutch in Germany where they began raising their family of five children. Throughout their years together they traveled extensively, both through military life and for pleasure. Eventually they settled near Fort Carson, falling in love with the mountains and making their permanent home in Security, Colorado. A woman of deep faith, Marjorie was a devoted church member and faithful servant of Our Lord and Jesus Christ. She attended church and bible study regularly and served for many years as a nursery attendant at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Caring for others was central to who she was.In addition to lovingly raising her children, she worked as a Certified Nursing Aide at places such as Aspen Living Centers and Life Care Centers.Marjorie was a loving wife, devoted Mother , cherished "Oma"! Above all else her greatest loves were her Lord , Jesus Christ , Family and Friends. She is survived by her Children Charles (Tessa) van Tuil , Raymond (Dawn) van Tuil, John (Kara) van Tuil, Juliana (David) Anderson, and Timothy van Tuil .22 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Also her siblings Jim (Sheryl) Richards, Kenneth(Kim) Richards, Martha ( Ron) Rector , Marilyn (Mike) Jessie and Mark (Patty) Richards. Also many Aunts ,Uncles nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her siblings Charles Richards, Martin Richards, Mary Elizabeth Richards, as well as her parents and her husband. Also her in- laws Mary Richards, Cindy Richards, Bernadina Meyer, Jan W van Tuil, William van Tuil, Willamina Macaro and one great grandchild. Marjorie will be remembered for her unwavering faith, gentle spirit and lifelong dedication to caring for others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her .
A Life Celebration Service will at 10:00 AM Saturday January 24, 2026 at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 1201 Leta Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80911, Military Honors and reception to follow.
