Mary "Dixie" Bone

Mary V. "Dixie" Bone, 85, died Sunday, December 7, 2025, at her Marion home.

Dixie was born on January 29, 1940, daughter of the late Robert C. and Doris P. Derr. Dixie graduated from Marion High School, class of 1958. Dixie married Jerry Bone on July 26, 1975. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2020. She worked for 1st Federal Savings Bank in multiple roles, including an insurance clerk and as a teller. She was a member of BORN Church, the Eastern Star, Sigma Phi Gamma for over 60 years.

Dixie is survived by her daughter, Toni Eakins; son, Charles Travis; grandchildren, Stephanie Eakins, Abby (Zach) McVicker, Andy Travis, and Lacey (Nick) Guhl; great-grandchildren, Penelope, Kahne, Piper, Palmer, Knox, and Phoebe McVicker, Clarity and Finn Guhl, Hunter Travis and Colt Eakins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; parents, Robert and Doris; son, Michael Travis; and son-in-law, Bradley Eakins.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953, where a visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Chuck Vernon officiating.
