Melinda S. Hicks

Melinda Sue Hicks, 55, of Matthews, died on Sunday, April 4, 2021. She was born in Muncie on September 4, 1965, the daughter of Daniel and Carolyn (McCoy) Mullenix. She graduated from Eastbrook High School and attended Ivy Tech Community College. Melinda enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with her grandkids and all of her family. Survivors include two sons: Kody (Tracie) Hicks; and Korey Hicks, both of Matthews; her mother, Carolyn Mullenix, Matthews; father: Daniel (Melinda) Mullenix, Marion; five grandchildren: Keaton, Sophia, Elizabeth, Kenneth Hicks, and Franklin Weaver; a sister: Kathy Sheets, Matthews; a nephew: Tye (Brianna) McCown; and her great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 259 N. Main St., Upland, Indiana 46989. Services for Melinda will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, to help defray the cost of final expenses.
