Peggy Sue Gibson, 68, of Fairmount, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her home on April 21, 2026. Born on February 5, 1958, to Edison Rose and Bernice Culver, Peggy embraced life with a warmth and kindness that touched all who knew her.

A proud graduate of Fairmount High School, Peggy dedicated over 30 years of her life as a beloved nurses aide at the VA Medical Center. Her compassionate nature shone brightly in her work, where she cared for countless veterans with unwavering dedication and love. In 1980, she married her soulmate, Thomas Gibson. Together, they built a life filled with laughter and joy, creating a cherished legacy of love until his passing in 2025 after 45 wonderful years together.

Peggy's passions included fishing on warm, sunny days, and she found joy in the little things, be it shopping for treasures, painting by numbers, or piecing together intricate jigsaw puzzles. Her talent for baking filled her home with the fragrant warmth of fresh cookies and cakes, especially around the holidays, when her family eagerly awaited her bountiful trays of treats. A true community spirit, Peggy delighted in painting rocks and hiding them around town, spreading joy with her small tokens of love.

She is survived by her children, Dane (Angela) Gibson, Jacob Gibson, Rose (Thomas) Dixon, and Shawna (Russell) Gibson; grandchildren, Brooklyn (Cylas), Axl, Vada, Pearl, Mae, Aubrey, Nicole, Bradley, and Steven; nieces, Tia and Tana; and her beloved dogs, Misha and Milo.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; parents, Edison and Bernice; and sister, Darla Musick.

Arrangements for Peggy have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana 46928.
