His commitment to the Indiana United Methodist Church was evident through his role as a delegate at the annual conference and his time spent on the administrative council. He was a beloved member of the Winsome Sunday School Class and served as an usher for many worship services, always bringing his warm character and gentle spirit to every role he embraced. He also was a member of Remington, Kentland and Wabash Presbyterian Church.
Outside the church and pharmacy, Dick's community involvement led him to become a life member of Fountain Park Chautauqua in Remington, where he served on the administrative board. His engagement with the Masonic Lodge as a 32nd degree Mason and membership in the United Methodist Men and the Indiana Pharmaceutical Society illustrated his dedication to fellowship and brotherhood.
In his younger years, Dick found joy in remodeling and driving stock cars and motorcycles - a reflection of his adventurous spirit. His love for sports was evident in his unwavering support for the Chicago Cubs, Purdue football and basketball, and IU football and basketball teams, often filling his home with the joyful sounds of cheering.
