Robert Harlen Craig passed away February 19, 2024. He was born October 1, 1931 in Byrdstown, TN to Della Mae and Samuel Craig. He grew up working hard and having
good times with his siblings. December 6, 1949, he joined the Army during the Korean War and was stationed at Panama Canal. He was discharged February 7, 1953 at the
rank of Sergeant.
He met and married his first wife Donna J. Beauchamp. He joined the Masonic Lodge of Delaware County and had two children, a son, Robert Eugene and daughter, Dawn
Leighannette. He worked hard at multiple factory jobs including Fisher Body to support his family. They traveled all over the U.S. to attend their son's skating competitions
from New York to California. After about 19 years of marriage, he was divorced and started his life anew.
He met and married his second wife Elizabeth H. White. Together with Elizabeth's three sons Douglas, William and Steven they moved onto a farm in Jonesboro. He later
retired from Fisher Body after an injury. They traveled to many places including to Germany to visit son, Doug, who was stationed there. Throughout his life, he enjoyed his numerous hobbies; fishing, gardening and tending to his farm. Robert also enjoyed spending time with his family; 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was very patriotic and family oriented.
He is survived by his sons and daughter, Robert E. and Leah Craig, Leigh and Dan Gray, Doug and Kim White, Bill and Joni White, Steve White; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Ruby Cordle, Janell Cremeans, Judy Poor, Janice Cremeans, and brother Joe Clark.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Della Mae Zachary Clark; his father, Samuel Craig; his wives, Donna Thompson and Elizabeth Craig; his brothers, William
Craig, Thomas Clark, Jack Clark and Delbert Clark; and his sister, Jeannette Clark and Betty Yates.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Cedar Creek Assisted Living and Heart to Heart Hospice for the wonderful care given to Bob.
Arrangements for Bob have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana 46928. Memorial services will be held April 6, 2024 at Bethel Friends Church 1491 W 600 S Jonesboro 46938 with visitation from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. followed by a memorial service at 12:00 P.M
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a donor of choice in honor of Bob's memory.
