Robert Himes

Robert Jeffery "Jeff" Himes passed away on May 20, 2025 with his wife by his side. He was born in Anderson, IN, on September 21, 1961, to Robert W. Himes and the late Carla J Himes. He married Rhonda Brewer on September 29, 2003.

Jeff was blessed with a wonderful childhood. He worked with his family on their family farm and spent many hours building and fishing with his grand dad. He participated in sports, was a 4H 10 year member and became an Eagle Scout. He, his dad and Uncles traveled west for many hunting and fishing trips.

Jeff graduated from Pendleton High School in 1980. He completed advanced degrees from ITT and Purdue University. Jeff was a Controls Engineer.

Having many interests, Jeff was a fan of the Dodgers and Dolphins, enjoying playing darts and especially loved cooking, grilling and experimenting with spices. He had a passion for hard work, belonged to the Masonic Lodge, was a loyal friend and was willing to share his knowledge with others. Jeff loved his dog, Walter, who preceded him in death.

Jeff is survived by his wife Rhonda, his father Robert W. Himes, siblings John (Sherry) Himes and Sandy (Tom) Harmon, daughter Jessica (Jeff) Bartel and grandson Aiden Bartel, along with several nieces and nephews. Harper Rae Taylor was a very special 4-year-old in his life. He was the very proud recipient of her very first "I love you".

There will be a celebration of Life on June 8, 2025 at the family farm. Friends and family are welcome to attend from 2-4 PM at 5252 S 400 W, Pendleton, IN 46064
