Roger D. Blackburn, 78, of Marion, Indiana, formerly of Fairmount, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Stillwater Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
Roger retired from Wendt Crane Rigging in Wabash, Indiana. He enjoyed riding his Can-Am motorcycle, cooking, watching sports and westerns, collecting tools, and spending time in his garage. He was an avid Indiana University fan. Roger proudly served in the U.S. Army and attended Fairmount High School.
He was born March 6, 1947, in Marion, Indiana, to the late Joseph W. and Naomi M. (MacAtee) Blackburn. He married Linda K. Bridges on May 31, 1975; she survives.
Also surviving are his children, Cindy (Brad James) Blackburn Johnson, Josh Anthony (Rocio E.) Blackburn, Jeremy Lee Blackburn, and Charity (Tim Lees) Blackburn; grandchildren, Niko Hinderer, Reid Johnson, Robby "Bob" James, and Nathan Blackburn; sister, Joyce Stearns; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Ethan Aguilar Blackburn; siblings, Beverly Rawlinson, Norman Blackburn, and Connie Wyre; and brother-in-law, Gayle Stearns.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana 46928.
The family has chosen cremation, with a private service to be held at a later date.
