Rosalie B. Fisher

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rosalie B. Fisher, who departed this life on October 13, 2026, just days shy of her 96th birthday. Born on October 18, 1930, in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania to William K. and Mary (McElhaney) Beale, Rosalie lived a life full of love, family, and faith. A devoted wife to Dr. Walter E. Fisher, whom she married on March 18,1953, Rosalie cherished the years they spent together until his passing in 2015.

As a proud homemaker, Rosalie dedicated herself to her family, nurturing her two sons, Leonard and Forrest, with love and care. She took great delight in her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, often expressing her joy as she admired photos of her beloved great-grandchildren.

An active member of the community, Rosalie was involved with the Research Club of Hartford City and the Carle Auxiliary in Champaign, Illinois. She had a passion for volunteering, particularly enjoyed her time working in the Heritage Pointe gift shop, and displayed a boundless spirit of generosity and kindness.

An avid fan of University of Illinois sports, Rosalie often cheered loudly for her team. She found solace in reading and was a diligent prayer warrior, deeply devoted to her faith and her love for God. Alongside her late husband, she often found peace and connection through watching church services on television.

Rosalie is survived by her sons, Forrest (Deborah) Fisher, Vancouver, Washington, and Leonard (Beth) Fisher, Upland; grandchildren, Stephanie (George) Matthew, Melody (Cris) Mikkelson, Jacob (Jessica) Fisher, and Abigail (Christopher) Girgis; great-grandchildren, Eliza, John, Emma, Auggie, Celia, Ellie, Addie, Teddy, Lilli, and Joey; and her close friend, Arlene West.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, and her parents.

The funeral services for Rosalie B. Fisher will be held on Monday, October19 , 2026, at 11:00 a.m, at the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 North Main Street, Upland, Indiana 46989, with Rev. Ginny Soultz officiating. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating her remarkable life and the love she shared with all who knew her. Burial will take place at Jefferson Cemetery, located in Upland, Indiana.

As we remember Rosalie, we honor her indomitable spirit, her unwavering faith, and the cherished memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
