Roy David Holloway, 93, of Upland, Indiana, peacefully passed away on August 13, 2026, at

Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on March 30, 1933, in Monroe

Township, Grant County, Indiana, to the late Harold and Dorothy (Burch) Holloway. On July 31,

1955, he married his beloved wife, Nancy Minnix, in Albany, Indiana, and she survives him. Roy

graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1951 and proudly served his country during

the Korean War.

Roy retired in 1995, but his gentle spirit and warm heart kept him actively involved in his

community and faith. He was a dedicated, lifelong member of Center Chapel (United

Methodist) Church in Marion, IN, where his journey began as an infant carried into the church

and grew into a deep faith. Roy lovingly taught Sunday School for many years and held various

leadership roles within the church. He was also a proud Past Master of Arcana Masonic Lodge

and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne, IN. Due to his dedication to

Freemasonry and his community, he was honored with the 33rd degree.

Roy loved woodworking and enjoyed inventing helpful devices to make life easier for his

beloved and devoted wife, Nancy. He loved homemade pies and ice cream but disliked

blueberries. He was a gracious man who always thanked Nancy for dinner, even when it was

leftovers. Though a quiet man, when he spoke, the room listened, and his words were wise.

Roy leaves behind his loving wife, Nancy, of 71 years; his children, Denise (John) Rumschlag and

Mark (Kelli) Holloway; his daughter-in-law, Debbie (David) Holloway; and his sister, Beulah

(Darrell) Trout. He was a proud grandfather to Jamie (Kenneth) Nunemaker, Daniel Holloway,

Krista (Blake McGurty) Rumschlag, Cameron Holloway, and Kelsey Rumschlag. His great-

grandchildren-Maxine Holloway, Emily (Demetrius) Hall, Sean Holloway, James Nunemaker,

and Josiah Nunemaker-brought him immense joy. He would have been so happy to welcome

his great-great-granddaughter, Gwenevere Hall, who was born two days before he passed away.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his son David, and grandson Daniel.

A Masonic memorial service will be Friday September 4, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Jones-Smith
Chapel, Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 N. Main St. Upland, IN

A celebration of Roy's life will be held on September 5th at Center Chapel Church in Marion,

Indiana, where family and friends may gather from 10:30 AM until Noon, followed by a Life

Celebration at Noon with Pastor Mark Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson
