Sandra J. "Sandy" Johnson, 74, of Upland, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at St. Vincent Heart Hospital in Carmel, IN, after an extended illness.

Sandy was born on July 14, 1951, in Marion, IN, to the late Joseph E. and Bettie J. (Taylor) Jackson. A graduate of Mississinewa High School, she went on to earn her bachelor's degree in computer science from Taylor University. She married William P. "Bill" Johnson on September 20, 1980, and he survives.

Sandy lived a life marked by quiet creativity, dedication, and love. She retired from Taylor University after 33 years of service, where she was known for her reliability, her kindness, and her ready smile. Outside of work, she enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, scrapbooking heartfelt memories, and relaxing with her diamond-painting projects. Sandy was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Gas City, where she found community and strength.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; her children, Shawn (Randy) Sexson, Angela (Tony) Drewicz, J.J. Johnson, Renee Johnson and Annette Fingleton; her sister, Connie Lynch; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Sally Owens and Cathy Webb; and her brother, Chad Jackson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones-Smith Chapel, Armes-Hunt Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 N. Main St., Upland, Indiana.

The family is planning a Life Celebration honoring Sandy at a later date.
