Teddy M. Ricketts, 78, Summitville, passed away peacefully at 8:55 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Summit Health & Living. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Thursday, September 26, 1946, to Chester "Merle" and Doris (Claudfelter) Ricketts.

Teddy proudly served in the United States Army and, following his honorable3 military service, dedicated 27 years in the Dietetics Unit at VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, retiring in 1997.

An avid deer hunter, Teddy found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as sitting on the front porch watching deer and hummingbirds. He had a sweet tooth, enjoyed watching boxing, and often fell asleep in his recliner. Teddy had a passion for his John Deere and loved mowing the lawn. He was known for his mechanical skills and also enjoyed playing Solitaire. Above all, Teddy cherished his family and always put them first. He never met a stranger and was known for his friendly and welcoming nature.

Teddy was a devoted family man, survived by his loving wife, Cindy Ricketts; sons, Ted Ricketts, Sr. of Summitville and Matthew Ryan (Ashlee) Ricketts of Marion; son-in-law, Rick Bell of Marion; step-son, Andrew Michael (Megan) Alberts of Huntington; sisters, Delores Carmack and Patty Jo; brothers, Marvin Ricketts, Wayne Ricketts, Danny (Del Rae) Ricketts, Troy Ricketts, and Timmy (Tina) Ricketts; grandsons, Anthony Sheidt, Ted Michael Ricketts, Jr., Tony (Jessie Lynnae) Ricketts, Jr., and Hunter Ricketts; granddaughters, Tiaira Lahr, Ashley Renee Ricketts, Alexandria Kaiser, Adison Ricketts, Lukoda Ricketts, Rylea DeWald, and Maycee Leighanne Alberts; seven great-grandchildren; and first wife, Kay Sizemore.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chester "Merle" Ricketts; mother, Doris A. Ricketts; daughter, Terry Ann Bell; son, Tony Michael Ricketts, Sr.; brother-in-law, Phil Carmack; brothers, Kenneth (Betty Jo) Ricketts and Ronald "Max" (Sharon) Ricketts; sister, Linda (Harry) Smith; and second wife, Patricia Ricketts.

Teddy's legacy of love, service, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

The family will receive visitors from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Kirk Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at Mississinewa Cemetery with military honors.
