Timothy D. Rush, 59, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 19, 1964, in Knox, Indiana to Sarah Baumgartner and Donald Rush.

He lived in Knox until 1968, when the family relocated to Portland, Indiana where he lived until 1973, when the family relocated to Geneva, Indiana. The family lived in Adams County until Tim graduated from High School. After graduating from South Adams High School in 1983, Tim went to Vincennes University where he earned his Associate in Radio Broadcasting. He then moved to Marion to work in radio where he founded The Tim Rush Show, now known as Good Morning Grant County. He served on the boards of several local organizations and was a County Councilman.

In 2004, he departed from the radio industry and joined Indiana Wesleyan University as an Enrollment Counselor, during which time he pursued and obtained both his Bachelor's and MBA degrees. Subsequently, he furthered his academic journey by achieving a Doctorate in Business Administration from Walden University and later took on a teaching role at Indiana Wesleyan. Tim loved camping, reading, business leadership, and was a lifelong learner. He enjoyed playing all sports and participated in Junior High and High School football and wrestling at South Adams. Tim loved music and played the trombone in the South Adams High School band. He was in various musical productions, including playing Captain Brackett in Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific while in high school. He enjoyed watching sports on TV and in person. Growing up, he enjoyed attending Ft. Wayne Komets, Cincinnati Reds, and early Pacers ABA games. Tim had a lifelong love of baseball and loved cheering on Reds and Cubs specifically.

As much as Tim cherished his personal pursuits, nothing brought him greater joy than being a loyal husband and loving father. His children were his priority and his commitment to his family was unwavering. In remembering Tim, let us celebrate a life marked by integrity, gentleness, kindness, and intelligence. He championed and supported those he held dear. Tim is survived by daughter Kate (Joshua) Lyons and son Matt (Rusana) Rush; grandson Reid Rush; siblings Jane Rush, Pat Rush and step-sister Cari Baumgartner; and his beloved granddogs Scout, Ava, Tuna and Pieorgi. He was preceded in death by his parents.
