Timothy Wayne "Tim" Kline, 67, of Marion, Indiana, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at Stillwater Hospice Home in Fort Wayne following an extended illness. He was born November 2, 1958, in Huntington, Indiana, to the late William "Bill" and Doris (Harris) Kline. Tim married Nancy Jo Clark on July 21, 1979, and she survives.
Tim was well known for his musical talent and retired as a music teacher at Lakeview Christian School in Marion, where he served from 1988 to 2021. In addition to music, he taught Bible, keyboarding, art, and physical education, and also gave piano lessons after school to several families. His favorite instrument was the tuba, though he could play nearly any instrument. Tim made a lasting impact on the school and community by forming band clubs, tutoring students, starting the pep band, and leading the Easter Egg Fundraiser. He also performed with the Mississinewa Valley Band and served as an ISSMA District and Regional Band Contest official.
Tim graduated from Huntington North High School and Huntington University and earned a Master of Education degree from North Manchester College. His family were longtime members of Union Church in Huntington, and members of Lakeview Wesleyan Church in Marion. At both of those churches, he was often found behind the sound board for Sunday services and special programs. More recently, he attended Westview Wesleyan Church in Jonesboro, Indiana.
Above all, Tim loved God and loved people. He was a devoted follower of Christ who lived out his faith daily through kindness, compassion, and service to others. Known for his gentle humor and warm smile, he would do anything for anyone, including strangers. Tim deeply loved his family, friends, and students-past and present-who were all dear to his heart.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy; daughters, Christin (Derek) Carpenter and Whitney (Branden) Roberts; grandchildren, Madelyn, Adriauna, Brooklynn, Annabelle, and Briella Carpenter, and Jacob and Caleb Roberts; siblings, Debbie Thompson and Steve (Ann) Kline; brother- and sister-in-law, Dan (Kim) Clark and Deb (Kevin) James; along with nine nieces and nephews and three great-nieces and great-nephews.
