Wade Stath

February 18, 1931 — July 13, 2025

On Sunday, July 13th, 2025, Wade Ivan Stath, loving husband and father of two, passed away at the age of 94 into the arms of Jesus in his home. An active member of his community, Wade sold insurance and was a regular at Ivanhoe's for the last 50 years. Wade could always be counted on to provide a joke for the wait staff, especially if they asked him if he would like cream or sugar in his coffee, to which he would reply "only wimps take cream and sugar in their coffee, do I look like a wimp?" with a smile so you knew he was kidding. Wade developed an appreciation for black coffee during his time as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. One of Wade's great passions in life was helping people find Jesus and live their lives for him. He was an active member of the Gideons for many years and faithfully attended Upland Community Church, where he was an usher for most of his life. Wade met the love of his life Bonnie Lee Stath (Needler) after graduating from Purdue and they were married on August 11th, 1962. Bonnie and Wade celebrated 52 years of marriage before her passing in 2015. Bonnie and Wade enjoyed a beautiful family life together with both a son and a daughter, 2 granddaughters, and 2 great grandsons. Wade is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Stath, his parents Frederick Christian Stath and Carrie Mabelle (Putt) Stath, and his siblings Floyd, Glen, Bethel, Freida, Helen, and Dale. Wade is survived by his children, Kelly Moore (Ron) and Paul Stath (Gail). Wade is also survived by his two grandchildren Karissa Stovall (Jes) and Mikayla Carlson (Chris) and two great grandchildren (Landon and Karson Stovall). A visitation will take place on Friday, July 18th, 2025 at 10:00 am at Upland Community Church with a memorial service to follow at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks those who are able to donate to the Gideons International or Upland Community Church.

Arrangements for Wade have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
