Wayne Rodman, born on July 30, 1937, passed away at the age of 88, surrounded by family.

Wayne was the son of Earl and Lillian Rodman, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Mary (Dick) Shutt, Nellie (Joe) Smith, John Rodman, Gene Rodman, Jim (Sue) Rodman, Dane (Doris) Rodman, Donald Rodman, and Allen Rodman.

Wayne proudly served his country for 6 years in the Indiana National Guard, demonstrating the same quiet dedication that defined his life.

In 1961, Wayne moved to California with his family. He loved hotrods and was proud to own a 1957 Corvette. He worked for McDonnell Douglas before relocating to Orlando, Florida, in 1971. There, he built a successful career with Motion Industries until his retirement in 1994.

When Wayne retired, he and his siblings returned home to Indiana where his extended family lives. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren, who will cherish many fond memories of his kindness, humor, and unwavering support.

After returning to Indiana, he joined Grace Community Church in Marion. He loved his church family there, and he served as an usher and was involved in Bible studies.

Sports were Wayne's lifelong passion. He was a lifelong Notre Dame fan. He was an avid fan of nearly every sport, following teams from the high school level all the way to the professional ranks. While living in California, he was a season ticket holder for the Lakers and Dodgers, and throughout his life he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. Even at the local level, his enthusiasm and loyal support for local high school teams from every sport earned him the affectionate title of "Grant County's Biggest Fan," a nickname that perfectly captured his love of athletics and community.

Wayne will be remembered for his faith, his devotion to family, his love of sports, his patriotism, and his genuine desire to bless the people around him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the memories he leaves with those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Wayne's life will be held on Thursday, July 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 North Main Street, Upland, Indiana, with visitation preceding the service from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Community Church in Marion, Indiana, or to the Grant County Humane Society.
