Wendy Kay Emry, 60, of Fowlerton, Indiana , died Monday, February 23, 2026 at her daughters home surrounded by her family.
Wendy was born in Kokomo, Indiana on November 6, 1965, daughter of the late Melvin Hardesty and Ruth E. (Goodrich) Hardesty of Wabash. She attended Marion Schools. Wendy loved arts and crafts and was a DIYer. Her family lovingly referred to her as "Bob The Builder".
She was independent and would accomplish anything she set her mind to. She also loved Karaoke, singing anything country.
Wendy is survived by her mother, Ruth of Wabash; children Kiri Burks, Marion, Alexis Hill, Gas City, and Travis (Kayla) Capes, Fowlerton; siblings, Tami Hawkins, Wabash, Kelly (Earl) Hertlein, Wabash; grandchildren, Makila (Orlando) Segovia, Deshea (Allison) Downam, Elijah Downam, Lola Burks, Freeman Burks Jr., Arianna (Elijah) Hoke, Arabelle Capes, Gavin Capes, and Ethan Capes; great-grandchildren, MazarineHoke and Cassielle Hoke, and Zaden, Meela, Adalynn, and Isaac Segovia.
Wendy was preceded in death by her father Melvin; brother, William Emry; sons-in-law, Freeman Burks Sr. and Joshua Hill.
Services have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana where visitation will be on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 4-6 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Funeral Home to help with expenses.
