William "Bill" Joseph Hill passed away March 20, 2026, after a short battle with cancer. He was born March 19th 1941, Marion, Indiana to Wayne Hill and Irene (Hill) McGriff. He Attended VanBuren School until second semester of his senior year and graduated from Marion High School 1959. Joined the Navy after graduation. Spent 4 years on the USS Shields DD 596 Destroyer. Lived on the west coast. Retired in 1998 as an Iron Worker out of California local 433. He met his wife Joy Hill on one of his Indiana visits. They were married 27 years. After retiring and moving back to Indiana, he became a truck driver. Drove over the road and then grain trucks for a local farmer until he retired again because of health problems. Bill liked to go to Casinos, fish (always caught the biggest fish), enjoyed watching the news and following politics. He is survived by his wife, Joy Hill, Sisters Beverly Fondenberger, Greentown, Esther (Greg) Davis, Kokomo, Cassandra (Rosendo) Nuncio, Marion. Sons Joseph (Sue) Hill , California, Frank (Stephanie) DeSario, Missouri, daughter Corinna (Aaron) Algood, West Virginia, Step daughters Jennifer Nelson, Upland, Amy Hollitt (Texas), Brothers in Law, Richard Mitchener, Jerry Mitchener, Marion and Judy (Jay) Buffington, Matthews. 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Several nephews and nieces that were all special to him. He is preceded in death by his Father, Wayne Hill, Mother, Irene McGriff, Step Father, Junior McGriff, sister, Madonna Gonzales, and Grandson Joseph Smith.

Viewing will be from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953.
Burial services will be at a later date at the Matthews Cemetery in Matthews, Indiana.
