Upland: Ruthanna (Boles) Rodgers, 87, passed away Saturday at 8:30 p.m. unexpectedly at her home. She was born in Hartford City, the daughter of the late Arlie and Edna P. (Brandenburg) Boles. She graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1940. She married Glen Rodgers October 16, 1941. Mrs. Rodgers was a life long resident of Jefferson Township. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed being a part of the United Methodist Women and playing the piano for services. She also enjoyed making cakes for others special occasions. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Glen; daughter, Nancy (Byron) Hall, Alexandria; grandsons, Shane (Julie) Hall, Kevin Hall, both of Hartford City; sister, Helen (Robert) Richards, Gaston; sister-in-law, Margaret Rodgers; cousin, Walter Rodgers; great grandsons, Stratahn and Steven Hall; great granddaughter, Marissa Hall. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack; brother, Thomas Boles; step siblings: Lucille Martin and Gail Rodgers.
